In 2013, the Tuckshop Menu for Withcott State School achieved a 5-Star rating. This is the highest rating that can be awarded for a menu by the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops and highlights a menu where GREEN foods dominate, resulting in the most healthy choices for our students. 

Our tuckshop, operated by the Parents’ and Citizens Association, provides a full tuckshop service each Wednesday at morning tea and lunchtime. The tuckshop is run by a convenor, with help from volunteers.

The tuckshop operates an online ordering system through Our Online Canteen and this is the preferred method for ordering. Alternatively, orders can be made using the brown paper bag method and placed in the slot located in the front wall of the Tuckshop on Tuesday morning by 9:30am. Orders would be written on the paper bag and the money enclosed in such a way that it will not fall out. We recommend that money be wrapped inside the bag, as bags will be used directly for some food items. Envelopes are not suitable for wrapping unless they are taped along both edges. Use separate bags for separate orders of morning tea and lunch. Examples of how to complete your order can be found on the Tuckshop Menu (see below).

As indicated in the Smart Choices guideline for school tuckshops, foods and drinks are classified into three categories according to their nutritional value: green, amber, and red. Green foods and drinks are encouraged and promoted, amber foods and drinks are selected carefully and red food and drinks are limited in their supply to no more than two occasions per term. 

The tuckshop is always looking for volunteers on Tuesdays to help compile orders and Wednesdays for Tuckshop day. If you are able to give some of your time, please contact our Convenor, Debbie McFadyen, via the school office.
